Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Niketan was established with the primary objective of giving students Educare. Values at SSSVN are not just another subject taught to the students, but practiced in the daily lives of the teachers, staff, students and even the parents.
Values are deeply integrated in the curriculum of every subject taught in the school. This is done with the aid of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini, a unique initiative of volunteers from Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation.
All teachers at SSSVN undergo Vidya Vahini training sessions regularly and are well equipped to impart Educare to the students. We invite qualified and trained resource persons to train the teachers to impart Value Based Education.
We also conduct several activities, events, workshops and other programs throughout the year to make students aware of the importance of values and show them simple ways to make it a part of their lives.
We encourage the students to organise and participate in a host of co-curricular activities to enable their all round development. We also seamlessly integrate values into every activity, which leads to students enthusistically embracing the values. Over a period of time the values become an integral part of their lives.
Parents are an integral part of the Sathya Sai system of education. We at SSSVN, take personal note of every family that sends their children to our school. We are personally aware of their backgrounds and provide ample assistance to the needy, by subsidising the cost , providing education totally free to needy families and also identifying sponsors to support students.
We hold regular parents meetings where parents are updated about the overall progress of their child. Every parent has a one to one interaction with the class teacher to get up-to-date info about their child. We also take inputs from parents on how to improve their child. In addition to this, we actively involve parents in various activities like parents sports, and values based events where parents and their children participate together. Like Matru Vandana, Gokulashtami, Here the students are shown how to respect and revere their parents.
"The staff, students and parents of SSSVN actively participate in various community service activities like Medical Camps, Narayana Seva - distributing food and cloths to the needy, Grama Seva - taking up cleaning activities in villages, with the active participation of the village folk. They also visit SSSIHMS, Whitefield regularly to offer voluntary services in various capacities."
"We enourage the students, staff and parents to participate in the festive ocassions of all religions. The values enshrined in all the religions are highlighted and also shown through colorful activities, how they can be imbibed in our daily lives. These activities bring to life the value of Unity of Religions and teach us to respect and revere everyone equally. "
